Paragons of the West End is a visual procession highlighting the historical figures who's experiences of West End neighborhood of DC impacted American culture. Observing the lack of acknowledgment of these history makers throughout their own neighborhood inspired this body of work. The goal is to celebrate these home-grown greats and acknowledge the significance of the West End neighborhood that shaped them. I used my personal style of deconstructing letterforms to declare the names of historical paragons in response to the architecture.
